Experience both of the safari capitals of East Africa on this 6-Day Masai Mara and Serengeti Safari Tour. Renowned around the world for the Wildebeest Migration and offering fantastic opportunities to see the Big Five in the wild, Masai Mara National Reserve and Serengeti National Park, separated by – Kenya-Tanzania land border, combine to make for the ultimate classic Savannah safari experience.

Day 1: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve

Your Serengeti Masai Mara safari starts from Nairobi, Kenya’s Capital City. Depending on your travel plan, pick up can be from your hotel in Nairobi or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport; in this case, you will have to book a flight arriving in Nairobi early morning hours. Our guide will pick you up at 7:00 H from your hotel or the Airport in Nairobi to transfer you to Masai Mara National Reserve by road. You will be briefed on your 6-Day Masai Mara to Serengeti Tour, exploring two of Africa’s greatest wildlife Reserves before you embark on the journey. Enjoy a drive through scenic views of the Nairobi suburbs, beautiful savannah grasslands, and the plains of the Rift Valley.

You will stop have 2 stop-over points; one for an optional breakfast and the other at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for photography, shortly after which you will continue the journey to the park. Upon your arrival at the park, you will check in accommodation just in time for lunch. After the refreshment, we will then head out for an evening game drive; expect to see various wildlife species to include giant elephants, hippopotamus, lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, and so many more. A sunset game drive in the Mara offers you an opportunity to view wildlife against the backdrop of the beautiful African sunset. Day 1 of our Masai Mara and Serengeti tour ends when we return to the accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Full Day Masai Mara National Reserve

The next 7 to 10 hours are spent game viewing in Kenya’s leading Masai Mara National Reserve. We will depart our accommodation early morning with a packed breakfast and lunches to embark on full-day game drives in the Masai Mara. Enjoy a full day searching for the big five and other wildlife species to include: Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, Wildebeest, buffaloes, zebras, jackals, spotted hyenas, topi, impala, Hartebeests, naked-eared foxes, the crocodiles and hippopotamus of the Mara and Talek Rivers.

Should your planned time for this Masai Mara Serengeti Safari be in the months (July-Sept), you should brace yourselves to witness the thrilling Great wildebeest Migration as it happens in the Mara. This massive movement of over 4 million grazers from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to Masai Mara National Reserve is the sole reason why many visitors opt to come to Masai Mara National Reserve at this time of the year. Planning to visit at a time outside (July – Sept)? Worry not, there is still a chance to encounter the migration in the Serengeti, depending on your planned month. Dec to April is the calving season in southern Serengeti, June is the Grumeti river crossing in Western Serengeti, whereas July to November, there is a chance to witness the migration in Northern Serengeti.

Day 3: Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park

On this day, we bid farewell to the Maasai Mara and Kenya after an early breakfast, we take on an enroute game drive out of the Masai Mara to continue to Isebania, Kenya – Tanzania Land border crossing Point. Please note that there will be a switch of vehicle and guide, but this is seamless and should not distress you. After the immigration formalities are done with our guide taking care of all the necessary documentation, you will meet your new Tanzanian guide/driver and continue to Serengeti National Park, enjoy a packed lunch, then embark on an enroute game drive to Central/Western or Northern Serengeti, depending on the migration movement. At sundown, we later retire at our booked accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay

Day 4: Full Day Serengeti National Park

We spend the full day exploring the vast plains of the Serengeti on full-day game drives, giving us a great opportunity to explore all through the kopjes and riverine areas. Serengeti is Tanzania’s oldest park and contains a plethora of animals, and is popularly known for the annual migration of wildebeests. Here we will hopefully see the Big Five of Africa (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo), the migration, as well as a dazzling assortment of other wildlife. After collecting full-day memories in Serengeti National Park, we return to our accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

The day starts with an early breakfast at camp before we check out to embark on an enroute game drive through Southern Serengeti as we exit the park to continue south to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We will descend to the Ngorongoro Crater floor, taking in stunning views of the world’s largest unflooded caldera on the way down. The crater is home to the Big Five and almost every kind of big mammal found in Africa. After a rewarding game drive in this World Heritage Site, we drive out late afternoon to transfer to our booked accommodation located in Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay

Day 6: Transfer to Arusha – Drop off at your Hotel in Arusha or the Airport

We enjoy a leisure breakfast at Lodge this morning before we check out to embark on a drive back to Arusha to conclude our 6 Day Serengeti Masai Mara Safari with drop off to either the Airport or your booked Hotel in Arusha (Booking your departure flight after 4:30 pm on this day or spending a night on Arusha to flying out the next day is reliable)
